Alternative Payment Solutions

Offering more ways to pay to your customer can actually increase your sales. There are several other solutions if you're interested.

Debit Card Processing

Debit card processing is another good alternative processing solution to credit cards. Any business no matter what industry they may be in can benefit from accepting debit cards. It works just like accepting credit cards except when you enter in the customers debit card information the amount to cover the purchase is deducted from the customers checking account. Most merchant account providers will be able to set you up to accept debit cards.

Account-based Payment Services

With these services your customers would sign-in to their account and from within their account they could pay for their order via credit card or checking account. The payment made by the buyer then goes into the seller's account. From that point the seller can then perform an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) right into their checking account at no charge (takes approximately 3-4 days) or they can request a paper check be mailed to them (expect 1-2 weeks for delivery).

Checks by Phone, Fax & E-mail

It allows you to collect payment via check over the phone, by fax, and even off your order form on your web site. This type of solution is cheaper than credit card acceptance, but should not be the sole method for payment acceptance.

Micropayments (eWallet)

Micropayments are used to process small transaction amounts (from a few cents to a few dollars) that would otherwise severely limit your amount of profit if processed the same as credit cards. When using an electronic wallet, consumers do not need to fill out order forms on each site when they purchase an item because the information has already been stored and is automatically updated and entered into the order fields across merchant sites.
